NJ REPUBLICAN PARTY ISSUES STATEMENT
DEFENDING LEGAL GUN OWNERS!

June 14, 2018. Today, the New Jersey Republic Party issued a strong statement defending legal gun owners, after the Democrat-controlled Assembly Judiciary Committee yesterday passed a package of gun bills more seriously impacting gun rights than gun crime.
In a news release, NJ GOP Chairman Doug Steinhardt said, “We must stop vilifying legal gun owners, which is the easy way to make a gun statement, and get tough on gun violence, which is harder and takes guts… [L]et’s treat gun violence for the crime it is and stop treating legal gun owners like the criminals they aren’t.”

ANJRPC is a non-partisan organization that supports all lawmakers who support the Second Amendment, regardless of political party. While the Second Amendment shouldn’t be a partisan issue, unfortunately it has become so in New Jersey in recent decades. Gun crime needs to be punished, but gun rights need to be protected.
ANJRPC is grateful for this statement on gun rights by the NJ GOP. ANJRPC is also willing to publicize statements in support of gun rights by other political parties, should they be made.
