ONLY those members with HOLSTER DRAW certification from an approved organization or business will be permitted to practice holster draw at Cherry Ridge Range. CCW permit only is not currently acceptable. CCW class is also not acceptable. It has to be a certification in HOLSTER DRAW only.
The holster draw area of the pistol range has been constructed, it will allow for safe practice of drawing a pistol. You will be required to sign in to your membership record with the RSO at the ports to show your approved Holster Draw certificate. FAQs: 1-Do I need a carry permit to practice in the holster draw area? No, but you do need a certification in holster draw 2-What is the process for becoming an approved member for use of holster draw area? Submit your certification/proof of passing a holster draw class from an approved organization along with your member number to membership@ANJRPC.org. You must also upload a current photo of yourself to your member profile online (login and go to Profile Home and hover over the profile photo placeholder. When the edit icon appears, drag and drop your photo in the box or click to upload). Membership will update your profile to reflect the certification. You can then show your member profile to the range officer for permission to use the holster draw area. 3-How old must I be to use the holster draw area? You must be an adult range member who is at least 21 years old. 4-What are the approved certifying organizations Gun for Hire Holster Draw Certification Cherry Ridge Certification given by Gun For Hire at Cherry Ridge RTSP - Holster draw cert only. CCW does not qualify 5- Will I need to reserve a port in advance Ports are first come, first served 6- Can I use the holster draw area if I am not practicing holster draw? Only authorized members may use the glass ports 7- Can I bring a guest while I am using the holster draw port? You may bring a guest as an observer but only the approved member is permitted in the port 8- Can a guest use a holster draw ports? Guests may not use the holster draw ports 9- Is there a time limit on use of glass ports? TBD 10- Are there any restrictions on the type of holsters allowed? There is no current restriction on the type of holster used however the muzzle of the firearm cannot ever be pointed in any direction other than downrange towards the target areas.
