SNEAK ATTACK ON NJ RANGES

MOVES IN SENATE COMMITTEE

December 4, 2025.Earlier today, the New Jersey Senate Law & Public Safety Committee moved a bill that could threaten outdoor shooting ranges, in a partisan vote with all Republicans opposed. The bill was added to the committee agenda at the last minute late yesterday, in a sneak attack apparently intended to circumvent opposition to the bill. However, ANJRPC and NRA were there and gave live testimony opposing the legislation on behalf of gun owners.

S4360 would allow the state Department of Law and Public Safety and local municipalities to establish "safety guidelines" for outdoor ranges, opening up a trojan horse for anti-gun politicians to regulate outdoor ranges into oblivion.

The legislation has not yet been scheduled for movement in an Assembly committee, and there are a very limited number of scheduled committee meetings left where this could occur before the end of the current legislative session on January 13.

ANJRPC and NRA are continuing to monitor this legislation carefully and will provide additional information as it becomes available.
