| TUESDAY: TUNE IN TO HEAR ARGUMENT IN MAG BAN / AW BAN APPEAL |
| On Tuesday, July 1 at 9:30 a.m. a middle-level U.S. appeals court will hear appeals of the lower court's previous rulings in ANJRPC's magazine ban and "assault" firearm cases (ANJRPC v. Platkin). Gun owners can listen to the oral argument live by clicking here (shortly before the argument begins, a "LIVE" button will appear at that link which also needs to be clicked to listen live). In 2024, the lower court in the case issued an odd mixed decision in the case (see original alert by clicking here), giving rise to the current appeals of various parties being heard tomorrow. The appeals court hearing the matter tomorrow (the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit) has no deadline on when it must rule in the case. However the Third Circuit ultimately rules, the magazine ban and "assault" firearms issues are also percolating in other courts throughout the United States. The issues may ultimately have to be resolved by the U.S. Supreme Court. |
