ASSEMBLY COMMITTEE HEARING
DETAILS FOR THURSDAY, JUNE 13
|
|
We encourage gun owners to attend this hearing and give testimony in person. The hearing is scheduled to begin at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday June 13 in committee room 11 on the fourth floor of the State House Annex (click here for directions and information) The hearing room is always subject to change, so when you check in at the building's security magnetometer, you can confirm by asking whether the Assembly Judiciary Committee is still meeting in room 11 or whether there has been a change.
For those unable to attend in person, you may be able to listen online by navigating through the State House web pages that begin here (page not accessible before Thursday, June 13). Find the page that has links to Assembly Committee hearings, and select Assembly Judiciary Committee.
In the meanwhile, please keep contacting all members of the NJ Assembly Judiciary Committee. Tell them that: Assembly bills A1016, A3696, A5452, A5453, A5454, and A5455 either affect only law-abiding citizens (who do not perpetrate crimes and represent a threat to no one), or fail to protect honest citizens from wrongful prosecution under careless wording. Either vote NO on these bills, or to vote to amend them so they apply only to violent criminals and exclude law-abiding citizens.
