| TRO IN OTHER CASE POSTPONES ARGUMENT IN ANJRPC CASE |
| January 9, 2023. It was a wild roller-coaster ride this morning as the courtroom stage was being set for oral argument in ANJRPC's lawsuit to overturn New Jersey's new carry-killer law. Literally minutes before argument was set to begin, another judge in another case challenging some portions of the new law issued an independent TRO temporarily halting enforcement of some parts of the carry-killer law. As a result, the judge in ANJRPC's case postponed today's hearing until this Thursday, January 12, ordering the parties to submit additional legal briefing in light of today's TRO and other issues. While some issues in the two cases overlap, the cases are not identical and ANJRPC's case seeks to overturn significant additional aspects of the carry-killer law that are not challenged in the other case.
