Supremes To Hear Carry Argument - Wednesday!

SUPREME COURT TO HEAR ARGUMENT
IN RIGHT TO CARRY CASE - WEDNESDAY 11/03

On Wednesday, November 3, at 10:00 a.m., the United States Supreme Court is scheduled to hear oral argument in NYSRPA v. Bruen – the first challenge of discretionary handgun carry permitting schemes ever to be heard by the High Court.

The case has the potential to invalidate unconstitutional carry laws similar to New Jersey’s -- which deny carry permits except where applicants can prove to bureaucrats some kind of urgent “need” to exercise what is supposed to be a guaranteed constitutional right to bear arms.

Argument of the appeal is the only thing occurring at this time.  A decision of the Supreme Court is not expected in the case before the Spring of 2022.  While oral argument should be engaging and revealing, it will nevertheless be impossible to predict with any certainty the outcome of the case from the demeanor of the Justices during argument.
