NJ MAG BAN CASE TO LOWER COURTS
FOR RECONSIDERATION UNDER BRUEN RULES! |
June 30, 2022. This morning, the U.S. Supreme Court ordered that ANJRPC's challenge to NJ's ban on magazines over ten rounds be returned to the lower federal courts for reconsideration in light of last week's ruling in the Bruen case.
The High Court had been holding the mag ban case awaiting its decision in Bruen. These developments strongly imply that the outcome of the mag ban case might be different under the new Bruen rules. The Supreme Court also took a similar action in a challenge to an assault firearms ban in Maryland. This also implies that assault firearms bans may not survive scrutiny under Bruen, and the potential implications for New Jersey are significant.
