Supremes Conference Today on ANJRPC Carry Challenge

U.S. SUPREME COURT TO CONFERENCE TODAY
ON ANJRPC CARRY CHALLENGE, OTHER 2A CASES

May 1, 2020.  Today the U.S. Supreme Court is scheduled to “conference” on whether it will agree to hear ANJRPC’s pending challenge to NJ’s unconstitutional carry law (called Rogers v. Grewal), along with other Second Amendment cases it was holding before dropping the NYC case as moot.  Results from today’s conference will be publicly released by the Court on Monday, May 4.

There are multiple possible outcomes from today’s conference: the Supreme Court could agree to hear one or more of the held cases (including Rogers), it could refuse to hear any of them, or it could postpone taking action on some or all of the cases until a future conference. We are optimistic that the Supreme Court will at some point agree to hear at least one of the cases, and are hopeful that the case it agrees to hear is Rogers.

We plan to issue further alerts and updates when conference results are announced on Monday.
