NEW ROUND OF GUN CONTROL
BILLS ABOUT TO MOVE?

May 30, 2019. Earlier this week, key Assembly democrats and Governor Murphy's office initiated a media offensive pushing a new round of gun control targeting law-abiding citizens instead of criminals, including regulation of ammunition sales, and mandated firearms training. Read media reports with details here and here

While gun ban legislation has not yet moved this year, that could be about to change in June. It's an election year in the Assembly, so if lawmakers want to move gun legislation anytime soon, June is when it is most likely to happen (June is the last opportunity before Summer recess, and lawmakers will probably be campaigning in September and October).

ANJRPC is monitoring the situation and will issue action alerts targeted at legislative hearings should the bills actually be scheduled to move. Please stand ready to contact lawmakers and make your voice heard at hearings if we issue the call.
