COURT SETS BRIEFING SCHEDULE
IN CASE TO REOPEN RANGES,
AND ALSO REQUIRES PARTIES
TO MEDIATE IN THE MEANWHILE

May 15, 2020. Today, the U.S. District Court set a schedule for legal briefing and oral argument in ANJRPC’s new federal lawsuit to force NJ to reopen outdoor ranges.  NJ is required to file its opposition to ANJRPC’s injunction motion on May 27, and ANJRPC must file its reply on May 29. Oral argument of the injunction motion will occur on Monday, June 1.

The U.S. District Court has also mandated that the parties mediate in the meanwhile in an attempt to resolve the dispute without court intervention. ANJRPC already attempted to resolve the dispute before bringing the case to begin with. Perhaps NJ will now begin to see the light as it starts to feel the heat from the Court. Time will tell.
