| CARRY-KILLER BILL MOVES THROUGH SECOND ASSEMBLY COMMITTEE |
| Fireworks Fly as Bill Sponsor is Grilled by Committee Republicans |
| October 20, 2022. Today, in a partisan vote of 7-4, the Assembly Appropriations Committee made minor amendments to A4769 and passed it out of its second committee. The amendments do NOT address gun owner concerns about the bill, which is now expected to move to the full Assembly for a vote as soon as next week. During today's hearing, bill sponsor Assemblyman Joe Danielson (D-17) was grilled intensely and repeatedly by republican members of the committee, most notably Assemblymen Brian Bergen (R-25) and Jay Webber (R-26). Once again, the sponsor was asked repeatedly where lawful carry could occur under the bill, and once again, he refused to answer. We highly recommend that gun owners watch the portion of the committee hearing where the grilling by Assemblymen Webber and Bergen occurred.
