CARRY-KILLER BILL PASSED
BY ASSEMBLY COMMITTEE

October 17, 2022. Today, in a partisan vote of 3-2, the Assembly Judiciary Committee passed A4769 - legislation aimed at banning right to carry by imposing extreme limitations on where carry can lawfully occur, among other things. The bill is now scheduled to move to the Assembly Appropriations Committee on Thursday, October 20 for possible amendment.

During today's hearing, one of the bill's sponsors, Assemblyman Joe Danielson (D-17) took a grilling from Republican Assembly Members Robert Auth (R-39) and Victoria Flynn (R-13). Despite being asked repeatedly where lawful carry could actually occur under the bill's draconian provisions which create huge swaths of gun free zones, Danielson refused to answer. ANJRPC Executive Director Scott Bach also testified.
