BOMBSHELL REPORT CONCLUDES BLACKS ARE DENIED CARRY PERMITS IN NJ AT OVER TWICE THE RATE OF WHITES

Wednesday, May 8, 2024

May 8, 2024. A recent bombshell report analyzing public data has concluded that black applicants for NJ concealed carry permits are denied at more than twice the rate of white applicants, based in part on a subjective judgment about whether it is in the best interest of public safety for an applicant to be able to exercise Second Amendment rights. The U.S. Supreme Court held in the 2022 Bruen case that personal opinions and judgments about an applicant are forbidden, and that only objective factors (such as whether a background check has been passed) may be used as a basis for denial.

So far, NJ Governor Murphy and Attorney General Matt Platkin have not made any public comment in response, and the mainstream media is avoiding covering the story. If the data is accurate, it could expose systemic racial bias in firearms permitting schemes like New Jersey's. The right to self-defense is protected by the U.S. Constitution and belongs to all law-abiding citizens, regardless of race
