Please Immediately Tell Legislators to Vote No on Override!

Sunday July 31, 2016:

In a legislative sneak attack announced after close of business on Friday, the New Jersey State Senate suddenly scheduled for Monday, August 1 another attempt to override Governor Christie’s veto of S805 / A1211. The so-called “domestic violence” legislation fails to punish any violent offenders and instead harasses and redundantly regulates only gun owners. By ignoring punishment and instead obsessing over firearms regulation, the legislation squanders a golden opportunity to meaningfully address the serious problem of domestic violence. More background on this thinly-veiled anti-gun legislation is available here.

TAKE ACTION NOW! Please immediately write to all members of the State Senate and tell them to VOTE NO on the override of Governor Christie’s veto of S805 / A1211, and instead support proposals that severely punish those who commit violent acts in the domestic setting. An override on firearms legislation would set an unacceptable precedent and lead to more of the same.
