New
Jersey Legislature Votes for Gun Rationing Bill
One-Gun-A-Month Heads to Governor’s Desk
In the wee hours
of Friday morning, June 26, Governor Corzine and his anti-gun
cohorts in the New Jersey State Senate vote 21 to 15 to pass S1774,
a bill that will arbitrarily ration the sale of handguns to one per
month.
Earlier this year,
S1774 was pulled from the Senate floor when the sponsor was unable
to garner the necessary 21 votes for passage. This time, taking
orders from Governor Corzine, Senator Fred Madden who previously
voted “no” and committed to hold firm in that position, switched his
vote at the last minute and voted "yes" to ration the Constitutional
right of law-abiding citizens to obtain firearms.
As passed, this
bill will prohibit an individual from purchasing more than one
handgun within a 30-day period. The bill now moves to Governor
Corzine's desk for his consideration.
Please contact
Governor Corzine and respectfully urge him to veto this bill and
remind him that you will remember his decision on election day.

We will be holding an NRA

Our YouthFest, though it is a lot of fun and you
will learn rudimentary skills in safety and shooting, is no
comparison for 5 days of coaching as offered by this following

2009 NRA National Junior Pistol Camp
July 14-18, 2009
Camp Perry, Ohio
The NRA is pleased to announce
that it will once again host the NRA Junior National Pistol Camp.
The camp is scheduled to be held July 14 – 18, 2009, during the NRA
National Pistol Championships at Camp Perry, Ohio.
The camp will help junior shooters
age 12 and above hone their pistol marksmanship skills in
international and conventional pistol shooting, in a safe and
enjoyable environment. This year’s camp attendees will have a unique
opportunity to learn from three guest coaches, United States Olympic
Pistol Team Coach Sergey Luzov, Olympic Silver Medalist and nine
time World Cup Gold Medalist Ruby Fox, and nine time NRA National
Pistol Champion Brian Zins.
The pistol camp activities will
not conflict with the .22 cal. stage of the National Pistol
Championship match held on July 16, and students enrolled at the
pistol camp will be able to also participate in the .22 cal.
matches. Entry fees for the National Championships are not included
in the camp registration fees.
Once again the NRA would like to
thank The Ohio Gun Collectors Association for their continued
support and generosity in providing first-time campers tuition and
travel expense reimbursements up $500.00 per individual and up to a
total cost of $5,000.00 for the entire camp.

Here's something to think about:
According to the U.S. Census Bureau's estimates for 2008 NJ has
2.84% of the total US population. The latest estimates from the FBI,
based upon the increased number of NICS checks for firearms
purchases, is there are now 90 million gun owners
in the US. Assuming all of the gun owners are evenly distributed throughout the population
then NJ’s 2.84% would amount to 2,556,000 gun owners living
in NJ.
And as one must be 18 or older to purchase a gun in NJ, all of them
are also eligible to vote.
