Dave Lange Wins 2002 State Indoor Pistol Championship

The 2002 State Indoor Pistol Championship was conducted at the Tenafly Rifle and Pistol Club in Tenafly on the weekend of February 9-10, 2002.  Thirty-nine competitors vied for awards and the match winner was Ron Steinbrecher (from PA) with a 2629 (out of 2700).  Dave Lange fired a 2620, winning the State Championship as well as becoming high New Jersey resident in the High Master class.  John Gemmill was second with a 2597 and Kathy Chatterton was third (and high New Jersey Master) with 2568.  Andy Mitchell was high New Jersey Expert with 2545, Jacob Mann was high resident Sharpshooter with 2351, and Bruce Griffith was top New Jersey Marksman with 2153.
The Tenafly club really laid out the welcome mat for the shooters.  A highlight of the match was the participation of five “Tyros,” shooters who were firing in their very first match.  Congratulations to all of the winners and participants and to host club Tenafly!
