Garand Match April 3,
2004
Despite the
uncooperative weather we had a good Garand Match April 4th.
Congratulations to Tony Bartolo our winner with a 186-8V. The next
match in the Jefferson Trophy series will be the Military Bolt Rifle
Match with any rifle of World War II or earlier vintage acceptable.
These rifles must be in isssue condition without accurizing such as
glass bedding. Although modifications typical of those made by
using organizations such as the US Marine Corps are acceptable.
For those rifles with barrel mounted rear sights such as the Mauser, in
an effort to keep them competiive with those rifles with reciever sights there
is a company making a windage and elevation adjustable rear sight that
replaces the standard sight and mounts on the same features as the
original parts. This sight or one like it is acceptable. This
sight is made by Mojo Sighting Systems, Ponderay, ID. The Military
bolt Match will be held at Cherry Ridge May 8th. The competitors
running the pits have requested that every one lend a hand in getting
the range ready to compete as well as clean up after the event.
Should anyone want their score sheet for the Garand Match, they will be
available at the Military Bolt Match.
